The Human Resources Association of Treasure Valley is pleased to announce the February Professional Development webinar program "AI, Technology & the Future of HR: What HR Professionals Need to Know: Practical steps HR professionals can take now to get ahead" presented by Bryan Banta.
AI and modern technology are reshaping the world of work at an accelerating pace - and HR is at the center of that change. For many HR professionals, the question is where to begin - and how to do so thoughtfully - especially when time, resources, and clarity are already stretched thin.
Keeping up with the rapid pace of AI and modern HR technology is essential - but tools alone do not create better people practices. The real differentiator is how HR leaders choose, apply, and lead with these technologies.
In this interactive webinar, Bryan Banta, a seasoned HR and technology leader, will share a grounded, real-world perspective on how AI and modern technology are already influencing HR - cutting through the hype to focus on what’s realistic, relevant, and useful right now.
Bryan will help you build confidence and readiness by translating complex technology into practical, human-centered applications you can start using immediately - showing how AI can support people, expand capacity, and strengthen the employee experience.
What You’ll Walk Away With
-
Real-world examples and practical ideas you can apply in your role right away
-
Clear, actionable next steps for getting started - or going deeper - regardless of your current level of AI or tech experience
-
Greater awareness of tools and resources you may already have and how they can be used more effectively in HR
-
Increased confidence in how to think about AI, talk about it with leaders, and lead change - so AI becomes a support for great HR, not a substitute
Who Should Attend
This session is designed for HR professionals at all levels - whether you’re a senior HR leader making strategic decisions, an HR department of one juggling multiple priorities, or an HR practitioner looking for practical ways to lead change around AI and technology. No technical background is required.
ABOUT OUR PRESENTER
Bryan Banta is a seasoned HR technology and people leader with over 20 years of experience leading at the intersection of HR, technology, and leadership. He brings a deep conviction that when used with intention, technology—and increasingly AI—can elevate people, expand capacity, and enable healthier, more human workplaces.
Bryan has held HR technology and leadership roles with well-known organizations including Cisco, St. Luke's Health System, Boise Cascade, ePlus, Ascendify, and YPO. This breadth gives him a practical, real-world perspective that translates well across industries and organizational sizes.
He began his career as a software engineer and IT leader, building a strong foundation in enterprise systems and technology before moving into HR leadership. This uncommon path allows Bryan to bridge the gap between what technology can do and how HR leaders can apply it responsibly, thoughtfully, and in service of people.
Earlier in his career, Bryan also served as a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, working in counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and cybercrime. This experience shapes his trust-centered, risk-aware approach to data, security, and AI—an increasingly critical lens for HR leaders navigating rapid change.
Today, in his role at YPO, Bryan focuses on aligning HR technology with leadership development, culture, and the employee experience—helping organizations use technology to create capacity that can be reinvested into wellbeing, leadership, and better work.
Beyond his professional work, Bryan also shares a love for the martial arts and has a black belt in Aikido. He has opened, operated, and been the lead instructor for multiple dojos and enjoys bringing the principles of Aikido to the corporate world through workshops, seminars, and his unique leadership style.
Bryan holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Systems Management from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and is the author of Leadership Uncomplicated, available on Amazon.
