The Human Resources Association of Treasure Valley is pleased to announce the October Professional Development and Networking Program "2024 Employment Law Update" presented by John Ashby and Kira Van De Moere. Please join John and Kira, co-chairs of the HRATV Legislative Affairs Committee, for an employment law update designed to help you be better prepared to address employment law issues in the upcoming year. They will provide an update on employment law developments, trends and lessons learned from 2024.

ABOUT OUR PRESENTERS

John Ashby is an experienced employment lawyer and the chair of Hawley Troxell’s Employment Law Practice Group.  John maintains a broad employment law practice representing employers in all areas of employment law, including discharge and employment discrimination cases under the Idaho wrongful Human Rights Act, Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.  John believes that good training and a proactive approach can prevent most employment law claims.  However, when employees do raise claims, John represents employers in court or in proceedings before the Idaho Human Rights Commission, the EEOC and the Department of Labor.

Kira Van De Moere, HR Manager at Givens Pursley, is passionate about building strategies and initiatives focused on solving business and people challenges. She is exceptionally strong as a practitioner in communication, employee relations, talent management, change management, and training. Kira has demonstrated success in working across the business at all levels developing trust and building effective partnerships. Kira is actively involved in tracking new legal employment law updates and has joined the SHRM A-Team to continue advocacy of important employment law initiatives at the state and federal levels.
